A planner built around your left hand.

Most planners quietly assume you’re right-handed. Dates disappear beneath your writing hand, memo pages sit on the wrong side, and even flipping through the pages can feel backward.

So we rethought the planner from the left hand up.

Since 2019, HIDARI has refined this planner year after year, listening to left-handed users and improving the details that make everyday writing more comfortable.

Dates stay visible while you write

In the yearly, monthly, and weekly calendars, date numbers are positioned in the upper right corner.

Your left hand doesn’t cover the date as you write, so you can check your schedule without constantly moving your hand away from the page.

Schedule on the right, notes on the left

We reversed the familiar weekly planner layout.

Your weekly schedule is on the right-hand page, with a full memo page on the left. This makes it easier to look at your plans while writing notes with your left hand.

A small change, but one that makes a surprisingly big difference in everyday use.

Pages open the other way

The planner opens from left to right — the opposite direction from most planners.

This lets you use your left thumb to flip naturally through the pages from the beginning of the book.

It may feel unusual at first. But many of our longtime users tell us that once they get used to it, going back to a standard planner feels strange.

Thread-sewn binding that lies flat at 180°

A planner gets opened again and again, every day.

That’s why we use durable thread-sewn binding that allows the pages to open completely flat to 180°. There are no rings or bulky bindings getting in the way of your writing hand, and every page stays comfortable to write on right up to the spine.

Smooth paper for comfortable writing

The planner uses Seibundo planner paper — thin, smooth, and durable.

For left-handed writers, whose pen nibs can catch or drag against the paper as they push across the page, that smooth surface makes writing especially comfortable.

It’s also one of the details our longtime planner users consistently appreciate.

16 months, from December 2026 to March 2028

The 2027 edition includes 16 months of monthly and weekly pages, from December 2026 through March 2028.

Start using it before the new year, or keep planning all the way through the end of the Japanese fiscal and school year in March.

Five colors to choose from

Being left-handed shouldn’t mean having fewer choices.

The 2027 edition comes in five cover colors:

  • Navy
  • Beige
  • Mint Green
  • Yellow
  • Red

The water-resistant PVC cover can be easily wiped clean, and the title is finished with gold foil.

A planner-only version without a cover is also available for those who prefer to use their own cover. Please note that because this planner opens in the opposite direction from standard planners, not every third-party cover will be compatible.
