The date can disappear beneath your writing hand. Your arm can cover your schedule while you write on the notes page. Even turning to the next page can feel slightly backward.
None of these things is a big problem on its own. But a planner is something you use every day.
So we reconsidered the layout from the left hand up.
A left-handed layout only matters if the planner itself feels good to use.
The date numbers sit in the upper-right corner of every yearly, monthly and weekly calendar, so your left hand doesn’t cover them while you write.
The weekly schedule sits on the right-hand page, with a full notes page on the left.
You can write notes with your left hand while keeping your plans in view.
Unlike most planners, the HIDARI planner is bound on the right, so you can flip forward from the beginning with your left thumb.

HIDARI's planner has been refined year after year by listening to the people who actually use it.
HIDARI itself began from Aya's experience as a left-hander looking for tools she genuinely wanted to use — not novelty products, just good tools that happened to fit her left hand.
That idea still guides us.
We are not trying to make left-handedness feel special. We simply want to make everyday tools that feel right in the left hand.
Choose the 2027 edition if you want dates already printed and a planner for the year ahead. Choose the Undated Planner if you want to start at any time or prefer more graph note pages. Both share HIDARI's left-handed layout.
Yes. The planner itself can be used anywhere. Just note that the dated edition follows the Japanese calendar.

No. The printed contents are the same as the standard 2027 edition. The difference is the gold-gilded finish on the top, bottom and outer page edges.
Yes, but the page direction and weekly layout are designed around left-handed use, so they may feel less familiar to a right-handed writer.
The planner is B6 size, but because it opens in the opposite direction from a conventional planner, not every third-party cover will be compatible.
