Made in Seki

Left-handed tools from Seki, Japan.

Seki has been a knife-making city for over 800 years. We source knives and kitchen tools from makers based there — including Mitsuboshi Cutlery and Suncraft — chosen because they make left-handed versions properly, not as an afterthought.

Seki City, Japan

Seki has been producing blades since the 13th century, when swordsmiths settled in the region for its charcoal and water. Today it's one of the world's major knife-making cities, home to both large manufacturers and small specialist makers. The techniques have changed, but the concentration of craft knowledge hasn't.

Left-handed tools from Seki

Most knives are made for right-handed use — the blade grind, the bevel angle, the handle shape. The makers we work with in Seki produce left-handed versions where those details are reversed properly. We carry knives from Mitsuboshi Cutlery and Suncraft, alongside scissors and kitchen tools from other Seki-based makers.

Left-handed, from the start

Every tool in our shop is designed for left-handed use — not a right-handed product turned around. We've been gathering and making them since 2018, from our shop in Gifu, Japan.

Curated from makers we trust

Most of our tools come from Japanese makers we've worked with for years — Suncraft, Mitsuboshi Cutlery, Schneider, and others. A few things, we've made ourselves.

Shipped from Japan, with care

Packed by hand and sent from our shop in Gifu. Delivery typically takes 3–4 weeks. Returns and exchanges are accepted — please get in touch if anything is wrong with your order.
